Special Collectors:

• The Estate of Jeannette and Paul Wagner

 

Our largest donation to date was from the Estate of Jeannette and Paul Wagner. It bears mentioning because the donation arrived from Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and consisted of 400 special books and DVDs collected by the Wagners. Jeannette Wagner was the President of Estee Lauder International and successfully pioneered the opening of Russia and China in 1989 and the early 1990’s. According to the NY Times, Mrs. Wagner also directed the marketing campaigns for over 100 countries, making a minor division, Estee Lauder International, into one responsible for roughly half of Estee Lauder’s multibillion dollar business.

 

In addition to this large donation, we are extremely proud of the special donations received by Authors and Illustrators. Most of these contributors are relatively local, from the Mid-Hudson Valley, but some are from as far afield as Switzerland and South Korea. All these authors and illustrators are incredibly generous and of course, support children’s literacy!
